REBEL8

Five years before REBEL8 began, in April of ’98, I started a website called HiFiArt. It was San Francisco’s first and only website dedicated exclusively to local graffiti. For 5 years HiFiArt reigned supreme as one of the most popular graffiti websites worldwide and attracted thousands of visitors daily. I spent countless hours documenting SF graffiti and updating the website every few days. This was in the days before the advent of the digital camera, so I would have to photograph, develop, use a scanner to get it into digital format, then do HTML to make it all come together on the site; a true labor of love. It was during this time I actually met Mike Giant and built a lasting friendship that would later become REBEL8.
