Some of you who read the blog may know that before I worked at REBEL8 I played in a bunch of different bands throughout the years. Well, next weekend one of the first bands I was ever in will be getting back together to play two shows in California. If you are in the area, come out and say hello!
I made it up to Seattle last week to check out Mayhem fest with Slayer, Motorhead and Anthrax. Such an awesome show! No matter how tight you think your band is, Slayer will fucking kill you!

I don’t think they could have picked a more perfect setlist.
It does not get any heavier than this. I saw Sepultura for the first time in 1994 opening for Pantera on the “Far Beyond Driven” tour and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I’ve been out in Florida for a minute working on a new music project with Rob Barrett from Cannibal Corpse and Steve Asheim from Deicide. I gotta say, it feels amazing to be playing music again.
While I was out there I went and saw Shadows Fall. Got to catch up with my old friend Brian.
The last day I was in Tampa I got to check out the Dean Guitar factory. Growing up Pantera was my favorite band in the world. Dimebag was hands down the guitar player that made me want to learn how to play, and be in a band. It was pretty amazing to check out where they made all of his guitars.
Finally a guitar big enough for me.

I’ve been obsessed with this band lately. I went and checked them out in Portland and San Francisco last week. If you like black metal, and the stench of pigs blood, give these guys a listen.

I’ve been obsessed with this record lately. Growing up I was always into bands like Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult and Mercyful Fate. Its awesome to see a newer band paying homage to them.
Last month Giant teamed up with The Hydrilla for the return of his Skullz Press party. PBR SF gave us a ton of beer and really got it goin.

Last week I went out to Oakland for the Mariachi El Bronx/Foo Fighters concert.
Mariachi El Bronx were so good! This is a band that is truly doing something completely different than anyone else out there right now. Check em out!

This was the first time I’ve ever seen Foo Fighters. They put on an awesome live show as well. Always been a fan of everything Dave Grohl has done.
My home away from home celebrated their ten year anniversary last week. Don’t ever invite me to an open bar.
